I just read a headline in the newspaper, regarding 1Malaysia. The Star, 26th March 2010, 1Malaysia the Korean Way and I felt that there is some valid input for people like me to reckon on. The whole idea that the teenage girls who went to Super Junior concert went color blind when it comes to having the same interest and passion is one of the most important criteria for Malaysia to undergo the concept of 1Malaysia. The article was written by Wong Sai Wan, who was there to send and to fetch his daughter and as he claimed, the equal excited daughter of his and her Malay friend too.
Super Junior concert was held in Putra Indoor Stadium Bukit Jalil on the night of 20th March 2010. The new craze of Korean Wave has come to a stand that it even managed to realize the passion of 1Malaysia. The writer said that it kind of amusing him that it takes a foreign element to accomplish the concept. Thinking back of those words, it does make sense. In my opinion – who has been active with fan clubs of Korean Pop Culture, it really makes sense.
Karen and Jasmine from MYSJ, working along with Sapphire Pearls Fiza, just to ensure that the fans will enjoy being fans of Super Junior in Malaysia. Preparations such as banners, flyers, t-shirts, face towels, light sticks and torch lights were in such a great manner. The Malays will work along with the Chinese to ensure that at the end of the day, every one who came would end up in a blast mood. The fact that it takes more than tears to work off these challenges, the combination of MYSJ and Sapphire Pearls and others such as Choco Fam, has made a terrific job to ensure that each and everything went smooth.
It does not matter to us, whether we need to starve the whole day, to be under the sun to make sure that everyone gets their t-shirts, towels and torch lights. It does not matter to us, whether to tear ourselves up with sweat and blood, but as long as it makes the other fans happy then we are in it. We had some misunderstandings with some other external essence and the thing that I am proud of to say is that we always have each other to share the burden on. If it is Jasmine who had to endure the pain, Fiza would definitely feel it as the same way Jasmine felt it too. I made some sandwiches so that MYSJ and Sapphire Pearls would not go hungry and bullying Christie (^^,) at the same time. It is just that we were not given the definite chance to be together, but once we are alone with ourselves, we find it easy to realize the momentum of 1Malaysia.
We do things together, ever since the blood donation campaign back in 2009 July. We donated blood in the name of Super Junior Malaysian Fan Club in collaboration with the Lion Club of Sentul being one of our sponsors along with Korea Tourism Organization. Next, we had the gathering on celebrating the 4th year anniversary of Super Junior as a boy band in November 2009 and this event even proved the whole lot of 1Malaysia. I attended it as an MC despite the fact that I had a final exam paper the next day. The fact that the games were mixing up the Chinese and the Malays even without knowing one another and at the end of the day they exchanged phone numbers and became really close on Facebook.
Is it only Super Junior can do this whole lot? Not really. The fact that I met Crystal, during the lining up for a fan singing event of SS501 in September 2009 was even a good memory to cherish with. The memory being the so-called Malaysian Top Host for MYHottest (2PM fanclub) Charity Concert back in January with Ashley and Regina is still freshly preserved in my head. I’ve made more friends after I went out of my primary and secondary school. I met Karen, Jasmine, Sadako, Crystal, Regina, Jo, Jen, Ashley and all these friends I met during the KPOP gatherings and other KPOP activities. I think it is time for the government to think for us too. Think by having put yourselves in our shoes. We can joke around, talking the whole night about one thing without even realizing that we came from different races. Even if it is just talking about Super Junior, 2PM, 2AM, SHINee, DBSK, Big Bang, SS501, SNSD, KARA, T-Ara, 2ne1, 4Minute, Brown Eyed Girls and Wonder Girls, we just ended up laughing and loving each other deep inside our hearts. Believing that no other elements can break us apart, even the blood.
Sincerely Yours;
Nor Hazirah Mohd Ghazali (ZIERA)
