Super Junior

My sister once had said to me, “Dek Ya, we don’t know why you can get so worked out just for stupid things.” Well, those stupid things that I got really worked out with were debating and fanaticism on East Asia Entertainment (most likely Korean). Let’s just take a deep breath before I continue with the analytical skills of providing information.

Let’s start off with the band group that I like most.

Super Junior

This group that consists of 12 Koreans and 1 Chinese that makes up a 13-boy-band group. They debuted in November 2005 and most likely grabbed the whole attention of the Korean Entertainment industry with their talents, looks and personality. Let’s dig up all the personality of each member.

Lee Teuk (Leader)

Park Junsoo or his stage name LeeTeuk, is the leader for this 13 boy band group. He was born on the 1st July 1983 and the eldest among all the members. He is a DJ in KBS Super Junior Kiss The Radio with fellow member, EunHyuk. He has a straight forward, funny-like personality and was seldom said that he has bad reputation as a leader to be a role model to other juniors. But, nevertheless, he works hard on being MC and providing extra fame to the group. He once stated that he went online and googled his name and the group so that the group will maintain the percntage of most searched group on the internet. He is responsible in his duty as a leader as his gifted mouth could provide a flawless speech to the media. That’s the speciality of Super Junior leader, LeeTeuk. He was one of the 4 members who got involved in the tragedic accident in April 2007. He was hospitalized for a month and made his debut with Super Junior during the filming of their first movie, “Attack of the Pin-Up Boys” as the panda. He is in the sub-group Super Junior Trot and Super Junior Happy.

Kim Heechul

Kim Heechul is the wittiest member of all. He is always quick and powerful when it comes to delivering witty speeches. He recieved the most attention in talk show and game show in Korea for his wittiness and the dorky side of him. He was born on the 10th of July 1983, the same age as leader, LeeTeuk. He came from a family in the Southern Province of South Korea and is best friend with U-Know YunHo from DBSK and Super Junior DongHae in training years. Heechul has a personality that doesn’t care about other people but yet once he acts nice, it’ll definitely touch the person’s heart. He has numerous nicknames and one of them is Cinderella. Looking at his personalty that likes to boost confidence of his beauty, he got the nickname for his beautiness. Heechul is never a boring person with the witty personality that he always brings along whenever and wherever. He once involved in an accident in 2006 after visiting member, DongHae’s father’s funeral and broke his leg. Heechul is in the sub-group of Super Junior Trot.

Hankyung

Hankyung or his Chinese Hangeng is the only Chinese member in the group. Alongside, he plays the role as a leader for Super Junior M that is now active and widely known in China. He was born 8 February 1984 and was promoted to be an SM trainee due to his ability to dance. He was chosen out of thousands contestant in China alongside Zhang Li Yin. He debuted in Korea with the other 11 members of Super Junior in 2005. He has a personality of the quiet person, since he hasn’t really mastered the language. But, yet he is easy to create his laughter and he has been Heechul’s roommate for 5 years. He is very compatible with Heechul and the side of him that brings charisma in his performance has proved that he is worth to be chosen as one of Chinese to be the torch bearer for Olympics 2008. He is now busy with his schedule not only as Super Junior M but also an actor.

Kim Jongwoon

Yesung, or his birth name is Kim Jongwoon has the bass vocal that can melt each person who listens to his voice. His personality however, is contrary with his voice. He is warm and funny in a unique way. Kangin would love to make fun of him eventhough he’s a hyung to him. The personality of Yesung is totally unpredictable and the funny side of him is somehow rather witty. The ability to appeal in front of the stage and greet fans with the special style of approaching them on stage has made him once, fell from the stage. During training, he fell from a 2 metre stage and was hospitalized. It was reported that he has the shortest leg length among the members and he has the largest face of all. In addition to that, he really loves to take care of his hair and it is his first priority even before he debuted. Yesung has his first single as an OST, Love Hurts A Lot. He is featured in two Super Junior sub-group, Super Junior K.R.Y and Super Junior Happy.

Kim Youngwoon

His given strength made his stage name, Kangin, that means the strength. His birth name is Kim Youngwoon and he was born on January the 15, 1985. He is close with the leader LeeTeuk and it is his personality to be the back bone of the group. He takes care of the younger members very well that he even gave his allowence to them. Kangin might look like a bully but he has kind and nice heart that only people who are close to him would understand. Kangin is a manly person that has physical strength but deep inside he is fragile too. In one of the reality show, he expresses his worries that he might not liked by the younger members. But, all the younger members are thankful to have someone like Kangin that takes a good care of them. Kangin is a DJ alongside his junior from the same company, Kim Taeyeon from So Nyuh Shi Dae in MBC ChinChin Radio. He is also casted in a lot of variety shows and talk shows to give more fame to the group. He is in Super Junior Happy and Super Junior Trot. He is now busy filming the We Got Married Show on MBC.

Shin Donghee

Shin Dong or his full name Shin Donghee is a good dancer and a rapper for the group. He might lack a bit in looks but he has a talent that shows a worth potential of fame. The given humourous side of him has managed to put him in a lot of variety shows and talk shows and not to be forgotten, as a Radio DJ in MBC together with Kim ShinYoung. Lately, for the sake of his fans, he promised to lose weight and he lost 16kg in 3 months. He is working so had in dancing and he managed to pull down his weight. He is a very close friend with Sungmin and can share most of the things with him. Shindong is said likes to take off his clothes while sleeping and it is even weird to see him sleeping with his clothes on. Shindong, the moodmaker, is always bright and intelligent when he’s on shows. He is working in the sub-groups of Super Junior Trot and Super Junior Happy.

Lee Sungmin

Lee Sungmin is the cutest baby-like face among all fellow members. His favourite colour is pink and most of his things are all pink. He is said having less character as a man, but in contrary, he is an excellent in martial arts. He might seem soft heartened and girlish, but when he shows his true man side, there’s no rejection of ideas. He worked alongside with SooYoung from So Nyuh Shi Dae and now Sunny, also from So Nyuh Shi Dae for Chunji Radio. But, it had stopped because of the cramped schedule of both Sungmin and Sunny. Sungmin is very good at Japanese and even said his speech in a Japanese TV interview in their language. He has a very quick and sharp brain and is a very good thinker. Sungmin is working along in Super Junior Trot and Super Junior Happy.

Lee Hyukjae

EunHyuk is the stage name of this unique and talented person, Lee Hyukjae. Since his name is as the same as one of the gagman in Korean enterainment industry, he proposed to have a stage name of EunHyuk. Eun means jewel. He is a rapper and the main dancer in the group. He is called the dance machine. He is an optimistic person and always makes the mood an enjoyable one. Eunhyuk is close to Donghae as there are a lot of kinky actions that these two have done together. Eunhyuk however is conservative at certain time. He was once said to watch pornography but he insisted that he didn’t. Well, looking at his character, I might say, personally, he didn’t. He is best friend forever with Xiah Junsu from DBSK and the fact that they bicker each other anytime they are on air really show that they are best friends ever. Eunhyuk has a pure heart and is easy to be fooled. He was caught 3 times in camera being fooled by his own members and the latest one is in MBC Every1 Idol, which I guess, it made it to 4 times. The most tragic scene that shows his pure heart is when they were doing secret camera in Explorationof Human Body. Eunhyuk is KBS Super Junior Kiss The Radio DJ alongside with leader, Leeteuk. He is also featured in Super Junior Trot and Super Junior Happy.

Lee Donghae

Lee Donghae, I might be biased, pardon me here. He was born on the 15th of October 1986 and he came from the Southern part of South Korea, Mokpo. He and Eunhyuk spends the most time together and during his training years, he is best friends with Kim Heechul and U-Know Yunho from DBSK. He likes carrot the most and I guess he really loves to sleep. His ideal girl is Song HyeGyo and it was rumoured that he and Jessica from SNSD was once a couple during their trainee years (ouch! that hurts me). Donghae is sensitve at heart, that even his best mate, Eunhyuk can tear him up. In one of the talk show, Eunhyuk stated that once during the trainee years, he and Junsu planned to prank the sensitive Donghae and Donghae cried and let out his anger on the toilet door. He is a responsible person as said by the leader Leeteuk. During the trainee years, no one stayed back after lunch to clean the dishes and only Donghae, as a junior did all the dishes and even wiped them with his own clothes. His father, whom he has never met in 6 years due to the schedule and training, died in 2006 due to chronic health problem. He always holds on to his promise for his late father to not take alcohol as it is bad for his health. He also specially sings “My Everything” by 98 Degrees, to his beloved fans, family and his late father. His cute looks has put him through 2 music videos of most popular women, BoA’ Key of Heart and SNSD’s Kissing You. His actor side can be seen through watching Super Junior first movie, “Attack on the PIn-Up Boys”. Donghae is now busy in China due to his schedule with the new sub-merging group, Super Junior M.

Choi Siwon

Choi Siwon (born February 10, 1987), also credited as Siwon, is an actor, singer, dancer and a member of Korean boy band Super Junior. Choi’s breakthrough performance was in the 2006 Hong Kong historical action drama film, A Battle of Wits, where he plays the young prince, Liang Shi. He is also one of the first Korean artists to be on Chinese postage stamps.Choi was raised in a strict, Protestant family from Seoul, South Korea who owns one of Korea’s biggest supermarket chains. He has a younger sister, Choi Jiwon. After Choi’s talents were scouted in the Starlight Casting System in 2003, his parents initially disapproved him to pursue in an entertainment career. After consideration, his parents allowed Choi to sign under the talent agency SM Entertainment. Choi said that although his father agreed Choi to sign the contract, he would not give any help to his son.^[2] Choi later moved into dormitories with fellow trainees and he was trained in areas of singing, acting, and dancing. He made his first appearance in a music video of The Grace’s Dana when she was still a solo singer in 2003. A year after, Choi made a brief appearance in the short drama, Precious Family.

Kim Ryeowook

Kim Ryeowook (born June 21, 1987), more commonly credited as Ryeowook, is a Korean singer, dancer, occasional actor, and the third youngest member of Super Junior. He is recognized by his fellow members as the “eternal magnae” (eternal youngest) of the group, as well as one of the three most vocally powerful in the group (Super Junior-K.R.Y.). Even before Kyuhyun‘s addition to the group in May 2006, Ryeowook commonly called himself the youngest despite being a few months older than Kibum. Ryeowook is currently studying at Inha University. He is also one of the first Korean artists to appear on Chinese postage stamps.Kim Ryeowook was discovered through the CMB Youth ChinChin Festival in 2004 and signed a contract with SM Entertainment soon afterwards after impressing judges with his singing talent. Trained in areas of singing, dancing, and acting, Ryeowook placed particular efforts into his vocal training and music composition as he was most concerned in those areas.

Kim Kibum

Kim Kibum (born August 21, 1987), also credited as Kibum, is a Korean actor, singer, dancer, and the second youngest member of Super Junior. He made his debut in the Korean television drama, April Kiss in 2004. Although debuted as an actor, he achieved higher results as a singer after his music debut with Super Junior in 2005.Kibum was born in Seoul, South Korea. He has a younger sister, Kim Sunyoung. He is also the cousin of famous actor and model, Shin Dongwook. At the age of ten, he moved to Los Angeles, California, United States where he attended his high school years at Santa Monica High School.In 2002, he was discovered by a talent agent from South Korea and was recommended to audition for the Starlight Casting System, a casting system organized by South Korea’s largest entertainment company and label SM Entertainment, and also the home of top Korean pop acts like BoA and TVXQ. Kibum soon signed a contract with SM Entertainment and became their official trainee, being trained in areas of singing, acting, dancing, and other performing talents such as hosting and modeling. He placed particularly strong efforts in acting, as he explained that he is most interested in that area. Although he resided in Seoul at the time, he constantly returned to Los Angeles to visit his family and to attend short school sessions.

Cho Kyuhyun

Cho Kyuhyun (born February 3, 1988), more commonly credited as Kyuhyun, is a Korean singer, dancer, and the youngest member of Super Junior. He is currently a Modern Music major at Kyunghee University. He is also one of the first Korean artists to appear on Chinese postage stamps.Cho Kyuhyun’s singing talents were discovered after he won third place at the Chin Chin Singing Competition in 2005. He soon signed under SM Entertainment and was featured in the video remake of TVXQ’s single “Hi Ya Ya” along with other Chin Chin idols.Before Kyuhyun’s addition to Super Junior, the original twelve members were said to be separating and “graduating” as the band was still presented as a project group at the time, the concept being very similar to Japan‘s popular girl group, Morning Musume. Although Kyuhyun’s addition to the group initially brought in an unpleasant surprise and disatisfaction within the group’s fans who supported the original twelve members, Kyuhyun was quickly accepted and acknowledged by the fans as the thirteenth member of Super Junior.Kyuhyun’s first media appearance was mysterious and not acknowledged. He made his first appearance as a part of Super Junior in a news broadcast on May 23, 2006 when the group was introducing their comeback single, “U“.In the early morning of April 19, 2007, just one month before Kyuhyun’s first anniversary in Super Junior, Kyuhyun, along with Super Junior members Leeteuk, Shindong, Eunhyuk, and two managers were all hospitalized due to a car accident when returning from a recording of the radio program Super Junior Kiss the Radio. The driver lost control of the vehicle as the van flipped over on its right side.^[4] Kyuhyun, who was sitting behind the driver’s seat when the accident occurred, was the most injured and had a fractured hip, pneumothorax from fractured ribs, and facial scratches and bruises.^[5][6] He was slipping in and out of consciousness, and was mute because of the shock.^[7][8] Kyuhyun had been in the ICU ever since the night of the accident, but after six days he was moved to a regular hospital room, unexpected of his fast recovery.^[9] Kyuhyun also did not need the respiratory machine anymore to support his breathing.^[10] Though it was said that he was only able to walk on his own one month after the accident. Kyuhyun was discharged on July 5, 2007 after 78 days.
